grant allen, founder and ceo

Grant is a successful entrepreneur with extensive professional experience including founding and leading a successful multimedia business for over 20 years.

Sport, especially boxing and football, has played a key role throughout Grant’s life and one experience in particular has fuelled his passion for the research and development that pull the Myelin concept together.

Grant experienced what we may simplistically think of as a state of flow where everything slowed down and his body effectively took over.

The ability to perform at a level way above his normal level prompted Grant to dig deeper to understand that experience and how it could be replicated.

Many years of research followed into the physical, psychological and emotional factors that contribute to the body’s ability to demonstrate true mastery of repetitive physical tasks as required in boxing and many other sports.

This has been further supported by additional training and certification including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness Sports Performance Enhancement (MSPE), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Neuroplasticity Diploma and The Theory of Functional Systems.

He has also trained and practiced the soviet AIBA system developed in the eighties for over a decade and studied the works by V.N.Ostyanov.

Grant has a powerful vision for the huge positive impact that this combined approach can have on both an individual and wider society level.

In addition to the performance potential, as demonstrated by Russian and Ukrainian boxers, there is a much broader potential through developing a martial art-like culture around boxing and ultimately beyond into other sports and professions.
